What the Dickens? Carolers! is an established and sought after caroling group that has been performing throughout the Denver metro area since 1999. Their tight harmonies, intricate vocal stylings, and engaging presentation style comes from many years experience as professional singers, actors and musicians. This caroling group has become a holiday tradition, bringing the delights of the season to many people each year. With over 40 years of combined professional acting and singing experience, What the Dickens? Carolers! is sure to add that special touch to any holiday gathering!
Kathleen Kennedy (Soprano) is a gifted singer and actress with many years experience and an extensive list of national and international professional credits in the arts. She spent almost a decade traveling to Israel, Jordan and Lebanon performing with The International Singers, which entertained troops from the Israeli Defense Forces with USO style shows. Also, while with this group, she cut several albums, appeared on several television specials, sang jingles for commercials promoting this group, and performed at the White House. Throughout the years, she has showcased her vocal talents with numerous bands and variety groups in Colorado including; The After Dinner Mints, Rare Moment, and The Raging Hormones. She has appeared in numerous musical theater productions throughout the Denver area, and has spent many years as a professional singer performing with, and producing/managing caroling groups for Colorados holiday season scene.
Julie Gritter (Alto) is a dedicated and talented singer and performer whose distinctive vocal stylings show her wide range of abilities. Performing professionally for many years, her list of accomplishments is extensive, including; singing with the internationally renowned Sweet Adelines, and taking first place in international competition while with this group. She honed and perfected her vocal style delivering singing telegrams, spent many years performing with a variety of professional choral groups, holiday caroling groups, and barbershop quartets in several states, and was invited to open a baseball game at Coors Field by performing the national anthem.
Tom Loveless (Tenor) hails from Southern California where he established himself as an accomplished singer and performer. As part of a sought after singing duet, he delighted audiences as he performed in churches and chapels, and for weddings, funerals, private parties, holiday parties, and numerous other special events. A frequently featured soloist in cantatas, his special love of music was particularly evident. His rich and vibrant vocal talent is the perfect accompaniment to What the Dickens? Carolers!
Stephen Hawthorne (Bass) is a talented and versatile musician and singer with many years experience performing across the United States. His love of the arts is expressed as a concert pianist, where he has entertained audiences at numerous concert halls and private venues. As a bag piper, he has appeared as a soloist performer, and as a long-standing member of the Colorado Isle of Mull, one of the oldest and most prestigious bagpipe bands in Colorado. This group has traveled all over the US to perform, collecting an impressive array of trophies at solo and pipe band competitions. As a singer, hes spent many years performing with a variety of professional choral groups and barbershop quartets in several states, while specializing in the intricacies of four-part, madrigal style, Old English carols.
